Do birth control pills cause hair loss?
It’s been 6 months I’m taking birth control bills and I realized that I lost so much hair especially on the top of my head.
Some people told me that birth control pills make you lose hair and some people said they help you grow back your hair.
I havent experienced this myself, but a friend was on the pill and she had to come off that particular one as it was making her hair fall out in clumps. She went to the doctor and was put on a different one and is fine now.
Check the side effects of the particular pill you are taking and if you are worried go back to your doctor.

I’m a 23 year old guy. I’ve been losing my hair for last year but I never cared but now i can see that its getting very serious. my hair started to get thin and i lost a lot of hair and now its visible. i need some treatment to re-grow my lost hair and get my hair thicker. please help me to chose one of the mentioned hair treatments, and whats going to be the side effects. am i going lose my hair again when i stop using them? please provide information about them.

Why do many chemotherapy drugs cause hair loss?

How much Biotin is suggested for hair growth?
I recently finished my Accutane treatment and have suffered from hair loss as a side effect. I heard Biotin helps hair growth and also nail strength. How much is suggested (5 mg, 1000, 3000, 5000)? Is there a formula depending upon weight? (i.e. 107 lbs) Are there any other vitamins suggested? Since Accutane is still in my system, I want to avoid any type of multivitamins since they contain Vitamin A. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I don’t believe any study that says a vitamin will make hair grow faster. Hair is a waste, made up of keratin, a protein that is not alive. Hair grows on average 1/2 inch a month. Biotin may make new growth stronger, but I don’t believe faster. Biotin is found in many common foods such as eggs, milk, carrots, lots of things.

Does anyone know if Propecia the hair loss pill cause dehydration?
It does not mention it on the side effects information label…..but there has been times when I have woken up in the morning feeling really dehydrated. Don’t know if Propecia might be the cause of it.
Many, many prescription and even non prescription medications cause some annoying side effects ,,, dehydration is a very common one to experience.
(Finasteride)Propecia a hair loss medication targets the skin and hair follicles. Sometimes affecting the bodies ability to sweat and regulate body temperature. Only way to combat this is lots of water … maybe keep a bottle of water beside your bed at night.
Just rest assured this is a to be expected side effect and nothing to worry about. Annd one you can live with if the drug actually works, right? lol

Both Regaine (minoxidil) and Finasteride, sold as Propecia, do work in a percentage of males. However not everyone gets useful hair growth. Both preparations need to be used indefinitely or any hair gained is rapidly lost, so they do end up expensive in the long term.

There isn’t any thing you can do to prevent it, depending on the chemo you are getting, it will either thin out, fall out and as someone already stated it might not come out at all.
You need to ask your Onocologist how severe the loss will be.
The if you think you would be comfortable wearing a wig, get one before it starts coming out and get some hats and scarves, Cut your hair short before it starts coming out so that its not as tramatic.
I have lost mine 3 times over the past 3 years once the chemo treatment stops the hair begins to recover I am 7 months out of my last treatment and have a short curly do.
Thats the other strange thing with chemo is alot of people that never had curly hair get really curly hair when it grows back in.
Its temporary, its only hair, it will grow back

Im on Ortho Try cyclen birth control pill, i have been on it for about a year and notice some hair loss. I was on ortho try cyclen lo be4.. should i go back to the Lo?? and is my Hair loss from the Birth control? should i switch to a total diff brith control? Please Help.
You know i had the same problem,i was losing alot of hair on the pill.My dr said i was allergic to it and changed the pill i was on.It seems to stop after he changed it.
