PostHeaderIcon Can contraceptive pills be the reason that my curly hair is getting straight or for hair loss?

I’m 22 years old and I’m taking the contraceptive pills from about an year and a half. I guess the reason for my hairloss is stress or maybe I’m suffering from alopecia areata. But I just can’t understand why is my curly hair getting straight! Do you know if it could be the pills? I know that some the hair of some women is getting straight after a pregnancy. That’s why I thought it might be the pills in my case. Do you have any idea if my hair could get curly again if I stop taking the contraceptive pills?

Yes, contraceptives can cause hair loss depending on which one you are taking… some do not. I’m not sure if they would cause your hair to straighten though?? There may be other causes for that such as the type of shampoo/conditioner you are using.

PostHeaderIcon What are the best PROVEN hairloss prevention treatments?

I was thinking of trying Rogaine and Nisim Biofactor shampoo. I might try to get my doc to prescribe Propecia. Because I have the start of male pattern baldness.

Any suggestions?

Do everyone a favor an educate yourself!
Diseases are part of nature/genes too, but does that mean drugs that treat the disease are a scam? NO!
Treatments/drugs are designed to overcome flaws in "nature"!

They are all scams, trust me. Some human males have a baldness gene where it may even start in their childhood. If it starts later in life it’s also due to aging and normal deterioration. No chemical treatment or shampoo can change human biology.

If you’re balding, shave your head.

PostHeaderIcon PLS HELP–do these CHEMOTHERAPY DRUGS cause hair loss-thx a lot?

DTIC- bleomyiens- vinblastine- adriamyrin -predmione not sure i spelled corectly—thx a lot

Chemotherapy acts by killing cells that divide rapidly, one of the main properties of cancer cells. This means that it also harms cells that divide rapidly under normal circumstances: cells in the bone marrow, digestive tract and hair follicles; this results in the most common side-effects of chemotherapy–myelosuppression (decreased production of blood cells), mucositis (inflammation of the lining of the digestive tract) and alopecia (hair loss).
Please see Google search for more details on Chemotherapy and hair loss.

No

PostHeaderIcon how much does a hair transplant cost?? is it effective??

Typically hair transplants are priced on a per graft basis ranging from as low as $2 per graft to as high as $8. Today’s state of the art hair transplantation uses grafts, which contain naturally occurring "follicular units" that have between 1 to 4 hairs per follicular unit. Large surgical sessions of 2,000 or more grafts are now being done by leading hair transplant clinics with very natural results.

But the quality of patient results varies widely from poor to outstanding. Price is important. But since the results for good or bad will last a life time, quality is the most important consideration.

Research any hair transplant surgeon that you may be considering by visiting discussion forums to view actual results from real patients.

PostHeaderIcon what is the best treatment for hair loss without taking pills?

One of my college roomates started loosing his hair at an early age. After many different herbal, over the counter remedies, and crazy stuff from the Internet, he finally chose to visit a hair loss center. Initially he was nervous to go becasue of the costs, but he learned a lot from the free consultations. After 12 months he is finally starting to regain some hair. Sorry I don’t know more about his treatment, but maybe you could contact a local clinic. http://www.hairlossandtreatment.com

PostHeaderIcon I was going to start taking those pills for hair loss (propecia) but after researching on line… no way!!?

Holy sh$t i can’t believe some of the stories i’ve read. That pill seems like a nightmare! It has seemingly ruined so many lives. If your interested in trying out that product please for your one sake research and see if the side effects are worth it.

PostHeaderIcon I want to go to doctor for treatment of hairloss?!??

it is so sad. I am only fifteen and losing my hair, I dont have no illness. But i do feel my hiarline is going further back and i want my baby hair back!??? If i go to doctor, what wil they do for treatment???

also, no hair transplant!!1 thats dusigusting

they will do tests to see if you are having thyroid issues. They will also check your iron levels to see if you have an iron defficiency. Those are the top 2 reasons for hair loss.

PostHeaderIcon when someone is being treated with chemotherapy is it possible not to get the biggest side effect-hair loss?

if it’s too rare it doens’t count, like if it’s one case in a million with no hair loss then i count it as not possible.
i just wonna know if u can get a cancer treatment and not lose your hair.
randy- considering your obvious ignorance and lack of originality and tolerance towards it, why would you want to display it?

Some chemo’s don’t cause hair loss. To be honest I wouldn’t think that hair loss wasn’t the biggest side effect. The nausea and malaise can be much worse.
