For people who take Biotin to aid in hair loss prevention…?
Do you take the 1000 mg tablets, or the 5000 mg tablets?
I don’t want to overdue it. But I don’t want to "underdue" it either. Not sure if thats a word. Anyway, which do you take/heard of others taking?
Thanks so much!!!!
I take 3000 per day. So I would recommend getting the 1000 and take 2 or 3 tablets per day…..

it depends on the area on your head that you need to have hair transplant.
Using Minoxidil Pills for Hair Loss?
Rogaine is just minoxidil. If I were to take minoxidil in pill form for hair loss, would it work, and how much? I’ve heard that people using it for high blood presure, grow lots of hair all over.
Minoxidil was first developed as a stage 4 blood pressure medication. The reason it eventually was used to treat hair loss was due to one of its side effects. It caused a condition called black hairy tongue. And yes, the condition is exactly as it sounds.
So, before popping those pills I would consult a doctor.
do you know any natural treatment for hairloss?
natural, i mean no medicine just plants
You have to see your doc first to find out what is CAUSING your hairloss. Some hairloss has a medical cause and can be treated. If it is not a treatable type of hair loss then the doc will tell you straight out that nothing can be done except expensive hair restoration proceedures. Go see your doc first for a diagnosis.
Why has my hair come back really curly after total hair loss following chemotherapy? Will it stay curly?
Curly hair is actually a fault in the Sulphur bonds in the hair which make up the protein as is induced in Chemical process of perming the hair it is broken by a chemical called Thio glycolic acid .
I don’t know anyone who has had cancer so I cannot answer the second part of your question but I think your hair will return to being straight as when the treatment stops the process of breaking down the protein will have stopped to
Crohn’s Disease, Hair Loss, and Biotin?
Hey guys, I’ve had crohn’s disease for about a year now and my hair has been slowly thinning. After talking the doc he said it was most likely ur body isnt getting enough nutrients… My question is that will taking biotin help me get thicker hair..i just started taking it..i take a 2500 mcg pill along with an average multi-vitamin every morning..is 2500 mcg enough, or should i up it to 5000 until i see results..any hellp or other tips would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS!!
I’d stick with the 2500 mcg for a few months and see if you notice any difference. It does take a while for new hair growth to be noticeable. I lost my hair to chemo and it took about a month before I noticed any growth.
You might also ask your doctor for a referral to a nutritionist to help you figure out the right balance of nutrients for your personal needs.
