PostHeaderIcon does anyone know of any pills or something for hair loss?

someone that i know put some thing in their hair to make it soft or something like that and when they applyed the thing in their hair their hair started falling off does anyone know of something.

Go to a salon and buy Nioxin! Shampoo, Conditioner and hair repair, which you put directly on your scalp after you get out of the shower will cost about $40. I would try the one for chemically treated hair! Good luck!

PostHeaderIcon is nioxin a good treatment for people with hairloss?

Apparently it is….I have a friend (woman) who uses it for her thinning hair and she says that she sees results, I know a few men that use it as well. It won’t make you grow hair but it will strengthen what you have left….at least that’s what I’ve heard!

PostHeaderIcon how to avoid hair loss caused by chemotherapy?

treated with FEC

1) Vitamin A – an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The ‘B’ vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

good luck!

PostHeaderIcon Ever had your hair fall out because of biotin?

I jumped on the bandwagon with all of those who take biotin to promote hair growth and it made my hair fall out! I am not bald , nor does my hair feel thinner, but my comb had triple the amount of hair in it with ROOTS attached, ROOTS!! It did make my nails grow though. I tried two different kinds of biotin, from the same manufacturer. The only time my hair stopped coming out was during a week in between the two. I only took the second one to verify my suspicion, i returned it to the store, and put in a report to the manufacturer. Can’t find anyone else that has experienced this, ANYWHERE. Doctors recommend it for those who have hair loss. Is there a doctor in the house?

You won’t find that many people with the same problem as you. Most likely there’s something in your body that’s causing this reaction. Biotin deficiency causes hair loss, it’s not supposed to when you take it, definately call them if they have a hotline for the product.

PostHeaderIcon What is hair transplantation? Is hair transplant the only real answer to being bald?

Is hair transplant will look like the real ones? Has hair transplant got some side effects also? Is there any reliable hair restoration center/clinic in the Bangalore or South India for hair transplantation? And how much hair transplant costs? Please I need an honest answer for these as I loose hope for I am a bald guy since for the past 2years. Help me to find truth answer please?

For hair transplantation to work, you still have to have some hair. They don’t transplant hair from another person into you. They cut hair with the follicle, usually from the back of your head (they do it in a way that you can’t tell where they have taken the hair follicles) and transplant it to the bald areas of your head. My step father had this done and it worked well. I knew he had had it done, so I could tell, and if you looked really closely you could see that the follicles were transplanted in nice neat little rows, which didn’t look natural, but again, you have to look very closely to notice. Most people you would encounter in casual circumstances wouldn’t notice because unless you closely examine your scalp, it looks natural. He had it done more than ten years ago, so perhaps they have improved methods they can use now that result in a more natural appearance. I’m from the US, so I don’t know of any doctors in your area who can do this, but I’m sure a google search would be a good place to start locating a doctor.

PostHeaderIcon Will my hair loss due to birth control pills eventually stop?

I have suffered from acne for about eleven years now and I am only 19… Ortho Tri Cyclen is the only thing that has ever been able to really help my skin…My hair has been thinning alot lately and I thought it was due to chemical damage but I just did some research and birth control can make your hair fall out. Does anyone know if after a few months of being on the pill the hair loss will stop? I just dont know what to do.. the pill reallly helps my skin but could be possibly ruining my hair… :(
sorry, i meant 8 years.. not 11

heres a snippet from a good website on health;

ALOPECIA: Genetic factors aside, zinc deficiency is known to cause alopecia (hair loss) in animals. I think vitamin E and the essential fatty acids linoleic and linolenic acid are also important. I stopped my own hair from thinning by taking lecithin, high doses of the B-complex, and zinc. It has been 12 years now, and I have not lost any more.

PostHeaderIcon Female Hairloss….. Experience, suggestions, treatment that WORKS to regrow hair????!!!!?!?!?

I’m a white 21 y/o female. I’ve had fine, straight hair my whole life, and in the past couple years its been progressively thinning out. I’ve seen a dermatologist several times, and he’s said that it’s probably alopecia. He recommended Rogaine but I’ve read a lot of bad reviews on it (like if you stop taking it all your hair falls out, or you can be allergic and have worse hair loss from just one treatment!?!?), so I’ve been too scared to try it. My hair is noticeably thinned out on my crown and above my temples…..
So much so that the only way I wear my hair is with a little puff up top (thank god that’s in style at least) or else if I just leave it parted I look sickly.

SO….
ANY advice? Experiences? Forums/websites that might be helpful? And please Please let there be somebody who knows of something that will actually work to help regrow my hair or at least keep what I have. I can’t afford surgery/laser treatments.
If this gets much worse I’m just going to ask for wigs for christmas this year….
Thank you for the advice all. I take a multivitamin, biotin, vit. E, and B complex daily. I’ve been taking the biotin and vit. E for maybe a year or so, but haven’t seen any effect other than my nails grow insanely and are super hard (which is awesome). I’m going to go explore the ethnic hair isle tomorrow and try to find that balm, and I’ll be trying the olive oil. I use John Freida shampoo, but I’m thinking I might need to shell out for Biolage(sp?) or something higher end that my barber recommends. I’ve never thought of wrapping my hair at night, but it does make sense that it would help keep it from breaking.

Does anybody know anything about Rogaine though? Should I just avoid it?

Go to sally beauty supply and buy wild growth hair oil in a green and white bottle it works WONDERS!!Also, deep condition your hair and apply coconut oil and olive oil regularly and massage into the scalp for 15 minutes to stimulate growth.And go to the ethnic hair care isle ( i know your not ethnic but w.e) and there should be something in a brown box called Dr.Miracles nape and crown regrowth balm, these things in combination should really help you regrow your hair .Take biotin tablets they make your hair grow faster and wrap your hair in a silk or satin bonnet at night to control breakage =] i hope i helped.

PostHeaderIcon why does chemotherapy may have side effects such as hair loss and reduced red blood cell?

I’m going through the whole chemo process, actually i’ve lost my hair and now it’s growing back. What chemo does is that it kills all fast-growing cells, as cancer cells, unfortunately hair cells also grow at high speed if you comparate them with other cells in human body and that’s why they get affected by chemotherapy.
It’s hard, even more if you’re a woman, hair is such an important thing for us, but the good news is that hair grows once you’ve finished chemotherapy, and if you don’t feel good going out with a shiny head, you can find great wigs, i did!!

PostHeaderIcon does biotin is so effective for hair loss?

year ago my husband suffered from hair loss too and he started trying everything you can imagine to stop his hair loss. the things that really worked for him was:

1) Vitamin A – an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The ‘B’ vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;
