i consumed Yasmin about 1 year ago,and now i faced serious hair loss problem.i dont know whether it is cause by the pills or not.what should i do?how can i make my hair grow back?what are the other side effects for Yasmin pill?if it is really cause by Yasmin,why it takes so long to know the side effects?some say have to consume other birth-control pill to make the hair grow back,but i dont want to consume any birth-control pills anymore,any other method?

Im on Yasmin for 3 years now, I agree with thinner hair,last year I decided I wanted to try another so I gave Microlite a go, I had awful side effects from that, and when I went off it completely, I lost a clump of my hair from the scalp. I was devestated,and had to shade in the bald patch with brown eyeshadow every day until it came back, its now a silver streak of hair lighter then the rest!

I dont like Yasmin at all, but im back on it because it is a lower dose pill, and im frightened to change it in case something like that happens again.

Im frightened to actually stop Yasmin in case I lose my hair again. Im 25, but as for side effects, weight gain (not major), a few broken veins on my legs and moodiness.

Why dont you inquire about the implant? Its inserted under your arm and lasts about 3 years. I know condoms are rotten, and they hurt, roll on the male contraceptive pill!!!!! Good luck!

Hey, I’m Nicole, I’m 17 and I just finished chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s Disease a week ago. I only have a few hairs left, but they’re very thin and frail and lost all colour. I used to have thick, dark, straight, beautiful hair, and I want it back fast, if possible.

I’m using Aminexil vials from Kerastase, and Kerastase Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo. Will these products help my hair grow back fast, or am I wasting my money on this expensive treatment for nothing?

(I also started taking SOLARAY Hair Blend, capsules. Do you have any idea if these have any effect?)

I’m not really sure on how effective Solaray Hair Blend is, but from their literature, they contain Saw Palmetto, which is a promising natural solution for hair loss.

I have been losing hair and I have noticed I hardly have any left, it is so thin. I also just noticed it in my pubic area too. I know I have to take folic acid and biotin, but I need more help than that. Plus I need a haircut that won’t make it look straggly. I was growing it out and it looked so beautiful last summer! (I look like my avatar). So I need a knowledgeable but not expensive hair stylist. Preferably in Manhattan but Brooklyn ok too.

You should first talk with your Doctor about this! It sounds like you are loosing quite a bit, especially if you are noticing it in the pubic area. He might need to alter your dosage or give you another prescription for something that this medication is taking away from your body. As for changing your hairstyle, if you go shorter it will make your hair bounce a little more and look fuller because it wont have as much weight on it. You can also use a body spray that you spray on your roots before you dry your hair. And dry your hair upside down it will give it a lot more volume! Hope this helps! Good luck =)

I’m currently using Proscar, Saw Palmetto, Stinging Nettle, Spectral DNC with rogaine and Revita shampoo. I’ve notice a lot of shedding in the last 2 months from using Revita, Spectral DNC. I just started using stinging nettle a few weeks ago and notice a real increase in hair loss. Should I stop the stinging nettle or any of the others. How long should I be going through a shedding fase? I’m concerned its getting worse and not better since my hair looks so much thinner.

I don’t like the sound of this cocktail you are on. The only product you mention that has any shown efficacy for hair loss is the Proscar, which like the others, comes with loads of side effects and may not even work for you.

It seems like a lot of ongoing effort, expense and risk to avoid going bald like 50% of men. But if you want to keep trying then you should discuss your meds with a doctor.

I’ve been bald for years and it hasn’t effected my life one little bit, except that it is low maintenance.

what’s the average time for hair to fall out after the first session?

i’ve done two session till now…a first one followed by a second one 2 weeks after it…no sign of hair loss yet…will they fall?

it varies from person to person. i did not lose mine with chemo, even though it was predicted. i did when i recently had radiation to the brain. i bought one wig but prefer my hats. if you lose it, have some fun with it. bald is beautiful. i got face paint so my grandchildren can decorate my head. any thing’s allowed to keep your spirits up. God bless you. i wish you the best with your treatment. ask your chemo nurse what she knows about the when or if of hair loss.

OMG!!

Ok, my hair has been falling out at the root for about two months now. I went to the doc and he said my scalp is healthy, so he doesn’t know what it is, could be stress, poor nutrition, a bad dye job, or from a traumatic event (so the doc was pretty much useless)

I have been taking multivitamins, biotin, hair skin and nails vitamins and shen min for like 6 weeks now and its still falling out!! I am using a good shampoo and conditioner too.
