Biotin doesn’t for the most part grow hair, or even grow hair at a faster growth rate. It can however improve the quality of hair and nails.
Biotin for the most part would only really help someone if they were deficient in biotin in the first place. So if you are deficient in biotin go for it.

Nature’s Bounty has a pretty good Biotin supplement that I like. You can also try multivitamins that include Biotin, but an individual supplement usually works pretty well.
Biotin works if you want your hair to grow back thicker, but it’s not really the answer if you are trying to combat actual hair loss. If you’re afraid you’re experiencing some kind of real hair loss, you should talk to a dermatologist about it. Good luck!
