has anyone’s hair loss been helped by the yaz pill? if so did they lose hair at first and then how long did it take to show progress?

* i am currently taking yaz. i have not experienced hair loss.my hair hasn.t been affected at all. i have experienced major quick mood swings, being emotional, spotting, & random crying.

i was bulimic so my hair is really fragile and has thinned. is there a hair pill i could take that would fix or help my hair?

Hi, my name is Angie and I’m 16 years old and I have short, curly hair. I used to have perfectly fine hair, but since the beginning of the year, I have had lots of hair fall. I visited the doctor and he suggested to me some pills and a hair growth shampoo. I have been using them for a couple of months now, but I don’t see any changes? Then I thought it could be my diet since I’m a vegeterian? I feel really depressed. Help?

Were you depressed, before the hair loss? I have found that depression, STRESS, and poor diet can cause hair loss. Also for me harmones are a added factor. I think for me though the stress was the biggest thing. Before I go any further REMEMBER there could be something going on within your body that is causing this. First your scalp needs stimulation for your hair to be healthy. What I do is while sitting around watching TV, I often take my fingers and massage my head TOP,BACK, SIDES. Also after I shampoo my hair (and I don’t use the same shampoo all the time), I towell dry hair & use the (Fructis) leave-in conditioner and brush my hair. Also I have stopped using hairspray unless I HAD to. I have really thin hair. Hey don’t forget the old saying (brush your hair 100 strokes). Has to be something to this. One thing I have done for myself is I’ve tried to turn around all the things that have been stressing me. Took a stand and decided things like a JEALIOUS HUSBAND are not going to bring me down any more. My hair is thin, but it started getting really thin about 3 mounths after I got married .Suprised I’m not Bald by now. Ha! Good Luck to you Angie!

I’m 24 and do to Lean System 7 diet pills I took almost 5 yrs ago had cause my hair to become very weak. I took the pills for a yr. When I noticed the change I stopped taking them and went to my Dr. Blood tests proved that the pills speed up my thyroid & metabolism so much that that is what was causing my hair to fall out and break. But my problem is, I’ve been off the pills for almost 5 yrs and my hair is still weak & breaking. I don’t now what type of dr I should see about it. Do I see some one about my hormones or about my hair? My hair use to be VERY VERY thick w/ alot of body to it. Now it total opposite! I just want to now why my hair is still weak. I now I may never get my old hair back do to cell damage, but I want to know whats going on w/ my blood/hormones/hair folicales & am terrified to see just any dr about it because I don’t want anything over looked. I want to have some knowledge before hand & am having trouble sereaching it on the web. If any one has any info PLEASE!

month ago i quit taking birth control pills, can it be the reason of my hair loss?

I quit my BCP a little more than a month ago; and my hair began to fall off like crazy. I intelligently went and got it dyed and I think that helped to make it worse.
I am scared because my hair isn’t too much to begin with; and it doesn’t stop falling!!!

the hormones in the BC could be cause this because now you ar not getting them. Ask your Doc. You may not have wanted to stopped so abrutly. He can give you a lower dose tolevel you out. The hair will grow back

i consumed Yasmin about 1 year ago,and now i faced serious hair loss problem.i dont know whether it is cause by the pills or not.what should i do?how can i make my hair grow back?what are the other side effects for Yasmin pill?if it is really cause by Yasmin,why it takes so long to know the side effects?some say have to consume other birth-control pill to make the hair grow back,but i dont want to consume any birth-control pills anymore,any other method?

Im on Yasmin for 3 years now, I agree with thinner hair,last year I decided I wanted to try another so I gave Microlite a go, I had awful side effects from that, and when I went off it completely, I lost a clump of my hair from the scalp. I was devestated,and had to shade in the bald patch with brown eyeshadow every day until it came back, its now a silver streak of hair lighter then the rest!

I dont like Yasmin at all, but im back on it because it is a lower dose pill, and im frightened to change it in case something like that happens again.

Im frightened to actually stop Yasmin in case I lose my hair again. Im 25, but as for side effects, weight gain (not major), a few broken veins on my legs and moodiness.

Why dont you inquire about the implant? Its inserted under your arm and lasts about 3 years. I know condoms are rotten, and they hurt, roll on the male contraceptive pill!!!!! Good luck!

I’m 16 and stopped using Yasmin (for menstrual cramps, I’m a virgin) three months ago. I have noticed thinning on the top of my scalp since then. I went to a dermatologist and he said that the hair loss should stop after a few months. I was just wondering if anyone else has had (or is having) the same problem. Did you hair really grow back? Or did it just stop falling out? Hair loss (particularly female hair loss) runs in my family…So I’m very worried.

I’ve never had this happen. But I wouldn’t worry about it. Just wait and see what happens. However I think no matter what anybody says on here about something like that, you’re not really going to feel very comforted. I think you should call up that dermatologist and ask him/her these questions, and how you feel, mention that hair loss is common for women in your family. See what they have to say. If you still don’t feel the best, then get a second opinion. But I wouldn’t worry, I’m sure everything is going to turn out fine for you. And remember if things do go wrong, it’s whats on the inside that matters, and if you’re beautiful on the inside…that’ll shine through, and you’ll be beautiful on the outside to. Take care!
