PostHeaderIcon have you experienced hair loss with birth control pills?

which kind were you on? how long did it take for it to stop? i switched from loestrin 24 fe cause my hair was thinning to yasmin and now my hair is falling out in clumps! I am only 19 years old this shouldnt be happening and i’m getting worried…
i just want to hear from people that this has happened to thanks

yes! i have been in this situation!

year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.
the things that really worked for me was:

1) Vitamin A – an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The ‘B’ vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

good luck!

PostHeaderIcon Are there any natural/home remedies for hair loss?

i’m a 24 year old male and losing my hair FAST. it is hereditary in my family, but i was wondering if there are any natural or home remedies to regrow hair without using any rogaine, laser combs, pills, hair plugs or other stuff that is extremely expensive and may not work.. and is probably temporary.

is there any type of food or anything PROVEN to regrow hair or prevent hair loss?… even hereditary hair loss?

1. Rub olive oil on your scalp.

This is one of the most simple methods you can start now.

2. Mix 1 cup of boiling water, with 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds, and cook for 5 minutes.

Drinking this mix might not be too pleasant, but it can be effective.

3. Make a mix of 2 tablespoons of olive oil, rosemary extract, 1 lemon juice and 1 egg yolk and apply it on your hair.

This methods does work effectively, only if done continuously for over a week.

4. Wash your hair after massaging the scalp with uncooked egg yolk, for 1 hour straight.

Uncooked egg yolk can get sticky, so make sure you fully wash away after you’re done after the 1 hour period.

5. Rinse your hair with lemon juice or vinegar.

You’ll need a lot of lemon juice for this method.

6. Soak a towel in hot water and squeeze lightly. Cover your hair with a light (squeezed) hot towel for 10 minutes for 5 days, each day.

7. 10-12 glasses of water daily and have a high protein diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

You’ve probably heard of this tip hundreds of times. This applies to almost every health problem. Healthy nutrients can help you fight against hair loss.

8. Apply a boiled mix of mustard oil with heena (mehndi) leaves

This method works to promote healthy growth.

9. Use a hair loss supplement.

PostHeaderIcon Hair growth pills and something that will stop hair loss????

Hair to grow in the front, not just the top, and the back, but also in the front…how long does it take,. no shampoos , I don’t want to wash my hair every day. What about Hair Follicle Transplants???? How does it work, and how much hair can they replace,and what is the healing time, and how much would it cost per square inch??? Also, any additional info on this that we shoud know would be greatly appreciated!!~

Once you’ve lost hair, unfourtunetly, there’s really no way to get it back, except for follicle surgery. It is costly, but you hair will grow back almost as full as ever. They transfer tiny hair follicles your scalp. The price varies for which option you chose; there are many diifferent types of this surgery. Sometimes patches of follicles are transferred in, sometimes individual follicles are transfered which is more natural looking, but more expensive.

As far as keeping the hair you already have, Rogaine or women’s Rogaine DOES work, but it will only help keep the hair you do have, not help you regrow hair.

As far as pills or supplements, Biotin (avalible at WalMart for about $3) helps your current hair grow in heathier, thicker, and faster.

PostHeaderIcon Does anyone know when Propecia (the hair-loss prevention pill) will be available in generic form?

I think the patent expires soon but can’t find any information as to when exactly. There is a lot of fake stuff out there – but at about $2 per pill, a generic form would be nice. I believe its made right now by Merck.
Thanks.

My husband has been ordering the generic version finasteride for years from http://www.rxmex.net . It is authentic, still in blister packs and manufacturers name and expiration dates. You will not get counterfeit meds here. I think he gets around 90 pills for $70 and it is working GREAT!

PostHeaderIcon Have you experienced hair loss with Yasmin contraceptive pill?

I have just started taking this pill – and been reading reviews of this pill, some people say about hair loss, have you experienced this?

No, but that is a possible side effect. Not worth it, but that’s just my opinion, and hormonal birth control could do that to you, not just yasmin, anything at all with hormones in it.

i hope not. i would never use them myself. too many odd effects when taken.

PostHeaderIcon experiencing hair loss due to birth control pills ?

Im 18 and started taking the Yasmin contraceptive pill 8 months ago. I noticed after 1 month of being on it that my hair had started to thin in a patch at the back right of my head on the side. The rest of my hair was otherwise still thick and healthy looking. Months have gone past and that area of thinning seems to have increased and after the 1st day of clean hair it becomes more noticeable and you can see the scalp. Still the rest of my hair appears to be unaffected.

Ive heard that birth control pills can cause hair loss and wonder if this may be the reason for mine.

Has anyone else experienced this while being on yasmin ?

and if you did experience hair loss did it eventually stop ?

Im so stressed out about this which probably isn’t helping, i just want my hair to go back to normal.

( i straighten my hair twice a week usually and almost always allow it to air dry first)

Yasmin is a combination of drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol. Loss of scalp hair is a reported side effect of this medication. The hair loss from most birth control pills is benign and self limited. Losing hair in this situation is thought to be through inducing hair follicles to go into the telogen phase. You should stop taking Yasmin and speak to your doctor regarding alternative birth control medications or methods.

PostHeaderIcon Coumadin and hair loss will it grow back after pills are over? Help!?

I am taking coumadin for a blood clot I have one more month. I have lost so much hair will it grow back?

Everyone reacts differently to different medications. Hair loss is a side effect of Coumadin and it is hard to say if it will grow back or not. When I stared my med it thinned out my hair a lot and it started falling out and when I got off it it never was the same. But you should talk to your dermatologist, there are different thing that you can try to help it like different products like rogaine. As bad and as much as you probably don’t want to have to do that it might help. Or there are different pills you can try to take like spironolacton, which also helps with acne. I hope that helps and best of luck to you.
