PostHeaderIcon Should I continue my hairloss treatments?

I’m currently using Proscar, Saw Palmetto, Stinging Nettle, Spectral DNC with rogaine and Revita shampoo. I’ve notice a lot of shedding in the last 2 months from using Revita, Spectral DNC. I just started using stinging nettle a few weeks ago and notice a real increase in hair loss. Should I stop the stinging nettle or any of the others. How long should I be going through a shedding fase? I’m concerned its getting worse and not better since my hair looks so much thinner.

I don’t like the sound of this cocktail you are on. The only product you mention that has any shown efficacy for hair loss is the Proscar, which like the others, comes with loads of side effects and may not even work for you.

It seems like a lot of ongoing effort, expense and risk to avoid going bald like 50% of men. But if you want to keep trying then you should discuss your meds with a doctor.

I’ve been bald for years and it hasn’t effected my life one little bit, except that it is low maintenance.

PostHeaderIcon Can hair again become thick and regrow after dandruff treatment?

I lost lot of scalp hair due to excessive dandruff and my hair are long but hav becum very thin now. I am overweight n hav a prblm of hormone imbalanc but duz dat hav to do nethng with my dandruff and hairloss? Can dis condition improve? I desperately want to hav my thick hair back. My age is 18.

Plz help……

Yes your hormone problem can cause hair loss among a host of other things. I hope your problem is being corrected because until it is, anything you do won’t work. You can try Burt’s Bees Pomegranate & Soy shampoo & conditioner. I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve talked to some people who swear it really helps the strength, shine, and thickness of their hair.

Probably you already know that the most common form of hair loss in both men and women is androgenic alopecia (also known as androgenetic alopecia.)
In males, this condition is known as male-pattern baldness because there is a well-defined pattern of lost hair — over time the hairline recedes forming the "M" shape. Hair does not only recede but also becomes thinner, often progressing to total baldness. It’s exactly what you experience.
As the recent research found out, male-pattern baldness is primarily caused by the increased level of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT.) It is not yet completely understood how DHT affects the scalp but it is known that if a person is genetically prone to baldness, DHT may initiate the process of so-called follicular miniaturization. This process can begin as early as the end of puberty. Follicular miniaturization leads to hair becoming progressively thinner and thinner until it is completely lost.

How can hair loss be prevented and reversed?

The good news is that it is possible to prevent and reverse baldness. Since it is primarily caused by the excess amounts of DHT, the obvious solution is to decrease the level of DHT. This can be done using synthetic chemical drugs or natural treatments.

As for the drugs – such as Propecia or Rogaine – their effectiveness is not universally accepted. Also, being synthetic chemicals, they have many side effects, including gynecomastia (growth of breasts in males), erectile dysfunction, chest pain, blurred visions etc.

Are there any alternatives to chemical drugs?

PostHeaderIcon Should I keep going bald or grow my hair back?

I’m 22 and I’m balding. Should I get hairloss treatment (rogaine, propecia, and/or micrograft hair transplants, or should I just go bald and be a bald guy?

Think about it and do what you would be happiest with

PostHeaderIcon What are treatments or remedies that will restore hairloss?

You don’t want to restore hair loss. You just want to restore hair. Get something that was made for it. Profinast works well for this.

PostHeaderIcon is their a website that has a non-bias test for hairloss treatments?

A lot of websites offer so called studies that compare the effects of all the hair loss treatments but they are acually just there to glorify their own treatments. is there any non-bias test results out there?

Yep. The FDA has a site and the facts and so does the American Academy of Dermatolgy (aad.org), American Dermalogy Association, and The Board of Dermatology.

There are oral medications for men now besides topical treatments that actually work. The topicals stop working when you stop using them. Doctors are a good resource sometimes, but a dermatologist is better.

Good luck to you. Hope this helps.

WebMD is always a good resource for medical; The Cleveland Clinic is as well and so is the CDC (Centers for Disease Control).

FYI: Monoxidil is topical and is used by both men and women and finesteride is an oral med. that works only on male hormones to stop hairloss. Save your money and get a treatment that actually works and is approved by the FDA and AAD.
