Hair Loss and the morning after pill?
I have recently taken the morning after pill twice in two months. Since then I have not experienced any side effects except for strong hair loss and irregular periods. Every since I have taken the pill my hair started to fall out bad..I don’t know what to do about it or what to take …Could the morning after pill cause hair loss and if so what should I do about it??

a friend of mine took plan B twice in 1 week (…i know, it’s supposed to be horrible for you, right?) but she didnt have any severe side affects except she was really tired the day after taking them.

I took plan B and experienced no hair loss. But basically what the moring after pill is is birth control in a pill. It does the same thing as a birth control pill does. Taking the birth control pill has a side effect of hair loss and so does getting off birth control. Don’t go on birth control, the symptoms may continue. The only thing you can really do for this type of hair loss is wait until all the excess hormones are out of your system. You’ll lose quite a bit of your hair but it won’t be noticable to anyone but you and it will grow back.
Until then, take a high dosage of Biotin to kick start hair regrowth. I take 5000 mcg and you can find it in any vitamin section. Until the problem is fixed, look for a line of shampoo called Nioxin ((sold in speciality hair shops such as Sally’s, Master Cuts and Trade Secret or you can find it online)). It won’t make your hair grow and won’t actually make it thicker but it will make it LOOK thicker. It really helps a lot. It’s a bit pricey but totally worth it.
Also know that the more you use the morning after pill, the less effective it is..so be really careful!
