PostHeaderIcon Help! Did you experience hair loss after quitting the pill, and how long did it take to grow back?

If you experienced this after quitting the birth control pill, did your hair grow back like normal and how long did it take? I’m worried…

I am currently going through this issue. I was on Micronor…i got off it in September and noticed a lot of my hair was gone in January. Like you, I was very worried. I am still waiting for my hair to grow back but the falling out has slowed down drastically. You’re definitely not alone in this. There are many women suffering from the same condition ((it’s called telogen effluvium)). I don’t know if you’ve done much research on it, but women suffering from it never lose all of their hair ((somewhere around 70%)), it’s hardly noticable to anyone but you ((NO ONE noticed mine was thin until i pointed it out)) and it WILL grow back once the problem is taken care of..depending on the person, it may be exactly as it was before. My suggestions:

1. Trying taking a high dose of biotin ((in the vitamin section almost anywhere…i’m taking 5,000 mcg)). My dermatologist told me it kick starts hair regrowth and makes it grow quicker.
2. Try not to stress over it too much. High emotional stress is also a cause of TE. ((i know it’s easier said than done))
3. Use condoms, birth control is the devil…lol

Good luck with everything and remember you’re not the only one going through this! =]
